Ed Sheeran will appear in Season 7 of Game of Thrones!

Game of Thrones has had an amazing cast over the last six seasons, and not just actors, but a lot of cameo appearances, from famous people from different fields, mostly musicians. Game of Thrones Season 7 is set to have its share of cameos, apparently by the rock band Bastille, and New York Mets pitcher Noah Snydergaard. Now, we have confirmation about yet another cameo appearance, and this time by musician Ed Sheeran!

We have been hearing about Ed Sheeran mixing up with Game of Thrones stars for a while now, and we have been wondering the whole time whether he will show up on the show. At the South by Southwest Festival where showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss were speaking on the Game of Thrones panel moderated by Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), they revealed that Ed Sheeran will be making a cameo appearance in Season 7 of Game of Thrones. They also said that they had been trying to book him for quite a while.

Ed then went on to confirm the news on Twitter :

Ed had recently talked about how the cast of Game of Thrones had crashed his private pub. Kit Harington, Alfie Allen, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner were a part of this apparent ‘crashing. We wonder what role Ed will be playing on the show. Maybe just an extra in that much-spoiled scene which will star many major stars from the show? Or maybe a White Walker? Wishful thinking.

Previous musicians to have made cameo appearances on the show include Coldplay, Mastodon, Of Monsters and Men, and Sigur Ros. Season 7 will premiere July 16th. In the meantime, Ed Sheeran is enjoying the success of his new album, Divide, which is breaking all records, to say the least.

Daenerys faces the truth about Jon’s parentage in Game Of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2

jennys song refers to dany-jon's fate

So. The cat is out of the bag. Daenerys knows she is not technically the rightful heir to Iron Throne after all. A secret male heir exists, who happens to be the man she fell in love with and came to help, leaving the war for her throne unfinished. Aw, bugger!

daenerys faces the truth can she handle it

In an episode filled with emotional moments and last-minute passionate exchanges, this was perhaps the most difficult and awkward conversation and certainly carrying the most weight. Jon Snow told Daenerys Targaryen, his Queen and paramour, that he is the secret son of Rhaegar Targaryen, Daenerys’s elder brother. As Rhaegar was the crown prince and Jon is the male child of his body, that makes him a better claimant to the throne than Dany, Rhaegar’s sister.

The scene is poignant in many ways. Robert Baratheon claimed that Rhaegar had raped Lyanna, and even Dany believes that version, even though Rhaegar is her brother. In telling her the story, Jon not only announces his own identity but also clears the name of his birth-father from a terrible rape accusation. This also puts their relationship in jeopardy, as their ancestry makes it incestuous, and the North may be even less inclined to accept them as a couple.

Season 8 Episode 2 Daenerys Faces The Truth. Can She Handle It?

From Daenerys’s perspective, this is a terrible blow to everything she has known and believed about herself. She has received only coldness since arriving in the North. Sansa has made it clear, despite Dany’s efforts to reach out, that the North will not accept her as Queen any time soon.

Naturally, her first thought is, Jon’s brother and best friend are cooking up a story to pit him against her. Jon, on the other hand, has no such doubt about either Bran or Sam. They are ‘saved’ from this impasse when the alarm sounds, but the issue remains. The preview of the next episode has them standing on a high place, much like the dragon lair. It seems they are going to battle together.

The big battle is coming, and the survival of all of them is put into jeopardy. Will learning about Jon’s parentage affect the Dany’s response in the battle in any way? And if they survive, is this the end of their romance?

Guess we will have to sit out the Season to know that!

Jon Snow’s Direwolf, Ghost returned in the latest episode but fans weren’t thrilled

The direwolf Ghost is back in the latest episode but fans aren't thrilled

The second episode of season 8 saw the return of the good boy, the good boy being the best thing that has ever happened to Jon Snow AKA his direwolf Ghost. We last saw the direwolf in season 6 during Jon Snow’s resurrection scene. This was when he curled up, patiently waiting for Jon to stop being dead. ‘Twas a scene where a lot of boxes of tissue were passed around.

So there was rightfully a fair amount of anticipation building up to the moment when Jon and Ghost would reunite. Calling that scene in episode two a reunion would be a bit of a stretch. Fans are understandably pissed because they feel they’ve been done dirty. Which they have. I mean, look at this.

There was no build up to this scene, NOTHING. He’s just there, like an afterthought. While this scene sorely disappointed, fan reactions didn’t.

The direwolf was supposed to have some screen time back in season 7 but he finally didn’t make the cut. Turns out, CGI direwolfs are quite expensive, and with dragons hogging the limelight and the budget, there just wasn’t room for more.

So how annoyed were you with this scene in episode two? Don’t hold back, let us know how you really feel in the comments down below!

Daenerys Targaryen tries to make a friend in Game of Thrones Season 8 episode 2

Daenerys Targaryen has been seen throughout the show to be someone who can be ruthless, as well as soft towards the ones that she loves. In the latest episode, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” we kind of got to see both sides of her. Before you proceed, SPOILER ALERT! Consider yourself warned!

Since the beginning of this season, we have seen an uneasy air of tension between Daenerys Targaryen and Sansa Stark. In episode 2, we see Jorah Mormont speak some sense into a hot-headed Daenerys, who wouldn’t listen to her usual voice of reason, Tyrion Lannister. With Jorah’s suggestion, Daenerys extends an olive branch to Sansa.

We see her tell Sansa about why they’re similar, being women that have overcome a lot of difficulties and the oppression of men. Sansa quips by saying she thinks Daenerys has manipulated Jon, to which Daenerys says she’s in the North fighting Jon’s war.

The pair seem to be getting along quite well until Sansa asks Daenerys if she’ll let the North be free, and Daenerys doesn’t seem to take well to that idea. That conversation isn’t finished, however, so looks like we might get to see it in the aftermath of the battle that’s coming to Winterfell.
