Character casting has always been one of the finest aspects of the Game of Thrones television series. They have also surprised George R. R. Martin, the author of the GOTverse. The main cast of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel, was just revealed. Dexter Sol Ansell, the actor who will play Egg, has already begun preparing for the part.

Young actor Dexter Sol Ansell has been signed in to play Aegon (Egg) Targaryen in the upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff, The Hedge Knight. His excitement can already be seen in a clip shared on Reddit by shad0wqueenxx, where he can’t wait to shave his head for his role.

George R. R. Martin is in awe of Dunk and Egg casting

Fans are eager to see what HBO has in store for Martin’s upcoming TV version of his beloved Dunk and Egg stories. Martin wrote on his blog, having also participated in the casting process:
