Game of Thrones Season 6 was spectacular, having been well received by fans and critics alike. It went on to do really well at the awards season this year, getting nominated for most awards it was eligible for, and winning quite a many of them. As the awards season finishes off, Game of Thrones is still getting nominated for more awards, and winning them as well. The latest wins for the show comes from the 21st Webby Awards. Read on!
The winners of the 21st Webby Awards were recently announced. The awards honor excellence on the internet. The description of their official website, says :
“Established in 1996 during the Web’s infancy, The Webbys is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS)—a 2000+ member judging body. The Academy is comprised of Executive Members—leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities—and Associate Members who are former Webby Winners, Nominees and other Internet professionals.”
Game of Thrones has bagged a Webby in the Social category Best Overall Social Presence, in the People’s Voice section, while the Battle of the Bastards Featurette, titled “Game of Thrones Season 6: Anatomy of A Scene: The Battle of Winterfell“, which shows the work that went into making the scene, has won a Webby Award in the Film and Video category, Unscripted (Branded). Game of Thrones has previously won a Webby Award last year, in the Best Overall Social Presence category, so this years wins get the show a total of three Webbys. The awards will be given away in a ceremony held on 16th May, hosted by the Community star, Joel McHale.
