Actor Paul Kaye, who plays Thoros of Myr on Game of Thrones, was last seen in season 6 after his 2 season long sabbatical from the show. Thoros appeared in season 6 episode 8, ‘No One’, along with Beric Dondarrion, and the rest of the Brotherhood Without Banners. We saw him trying to recruit the Hound in season 6, and now we’re waiting to see what’s going to happen on that front in season 7 as filming continues. Paul Kaye, during an interview with Express, he talked about how nervous he was before his first day of filming, and how he googled ‘how to act’ the night before.
“When I first got the gig, I was pretty terrified and couldn’t sleep,” he said. “I got to Belfast and I was being picked up at 4.30am for filming, and at 2am I was on Google typing in, ‘How to act.’”
He continued saying that he had massive insecurity issues and how he was wondering ways to cope with it.
“I suddenly thought, ‘what am I doing here? How the hell have I got here and how am I going to cope with it?’ I do have those moments of massive insecurity. It was like the first day at school. I might be 51 but my confidence levels fluctuate and there was pressure. I’ve still got to pinch myself that I’m in it after six auditions. Every time I figured it had gone away,” Paul said.
When asked about the upcoming season, he said, “I don’t have a clue what is going on, I don’t really know if I am in it or not,” he said of the upcoming season. I don’t know whether I’d get told off if I say anything about it. If I was in it, I would have started filming. I don’t want to be the one to let any cats out of any bags, sorry.”
Whether or not Thoros of Myr is scheduled to appear in season 7 of Game of Thrones, we surely hope to see it happen.
