The second season of HBO’s House of the Dragon, a precursor to Game of Thrones, will premiere in June. The fantasy epic has, like its predecessor, gotten a ton of acclaim from fans thus far, who commend the characters, storylines, settings, and other elements that make it so captivating. However, there are still some elements that are not pleasing enough for a section of viewers. Game of Thrones star John Bradley is among them.

John Bradley hasn’t watched House of the Dragon yet

Bradley, who played Samwell Tarly, hasn’t watched the Game of Thrones prequel yet. In a recent interview with New York Post, he explained, “Game of Thrones had so many characters in it spanning all across the Seven Kingdoms. There was much more scope for all of humanity to exist there. Here were these very broken characters.

There were vulnerable characters. And there were characters that had a bit of comedy about them. There were strong characters, and wounded characters, and evil characters. And House of the Dragon feels more focused on one particular area of the narrative, and one particular area of humanity. So, it just feels like there’s slightly less scope to it.”

John Bradley might give House of the Dragon a try in future

The House of the Dragon trailers were released recently, and it has renewed the hype for Season 2. That might’ve given Bradley hope, as he continued, “[E]verybody that I’ve spoken to loves it, I will get around to it one day. It feels a bit like the comparisons [to ‘GoT’] are slightly too easily made now for me to be able to really invest in it properly.”
