Art Parkinson has dismissed the fan theory about Shaggydog

Art Parkinson has dismissed the fan theory about Shaggydog

This Sunday episode of Game of Thrones saw the death of another direwolf, Shaggydog, which made everyone really sad. In episode 3, titled ‘Oathbreaker’, we saw that House Umber presented Rickon Stark and Osha to Ramsay Bolton and he also gave Shaggydog’s head as an evidence to prove that Rickon was actually Rickon Stark.

Shaggydog might still be alive Game of Thrones theory

Since that moment, theories have been cropping up online about how Shaggydog is alive and it’s only a trap set up by Rickon and Osha to bring down Boltons and take back Winterfell with the Umbers. This theory came up because Shaggydog’s severed head appeared too small for a direwolf’s head and Umbers refused to kneel down or pledge loyalty to Boltons. We humans always try to perceive the best out of things but when it comes to Game of Thrones, that does not always work.

While speaking with the Huffington Post, Art Parkinson, the actor who plays Rickon Stark on the show, dismissed the theory about Shaggydog still being alive and said that, “Uh, yeah, I’d say so. It was a little bit disappointing because, you know, looking at the dogs we had on set … and that you’d never really get to hang out with them again. When I read that Shaggydog was dead, I was definitely a little upset.”

He also spoke about how felt like working with Shaggydog and what was his relationship with him like and described it by saying, “I didn’t actually get to see him before he was decapitated. But years ago, whenever we were doing the show before my storyline went off, it was great because they actually brought the dogs down to my house, and we got to hang out with them and have a bit of a bonding session, just so I wasn’t intimidated because [I was] working with them from a young age. It was great to experience not just working with humans but dogs, as well. I felt quite close to him, but mom wouldn’t — we were all sort of offered the chance to adopt the dogs and take them home, but we have two dogs ourselves, and mom thought the other dogs wouldn’t get along with a big giant husky running about the house.”

But guys, it’s Game of Thrones and everyone remembers for how long they denied Jon’s resurrection. So there might still be hope.

Age of Darkness: A survival RTS game inspired by Game of Thrones’ The Long Night

Age of Darkness: A survival RTS game inspired by Game of Thrones’ The Long Night

Video games and TV shows/movies have often worked hand-in-hand to help promote each other. They also provide the ultimate user experience, where players can live through their favourite films or series. Game of Thrones’ The Long Night was one of the most horrific and stressful episodes of the series. One game developer PlaySide recently released Age of Darkness, a horror survival video game heavily inspired by the Game of Thrones episode.

When starting development we were inspired by the Game of Thrones episode ‘The Long Night’,” explains James Berkelmans in an interview with PCGamesN, one of the game’s designers. “The whole idea being that when night came you had to hold your ground against a large horde of enemies, that’s where the idea of our death nights started.”

“We’ve created this system to give us the flexibility to create some amazing game moments,” says Mario Barone, another designer. “It goes without saying that the sheer amount of units our engine can allow is very impressive. Not only can we do this – but we can do so with many 3D effects and a highly detailed world.”

As the guardian of the last city, you go through an intense day/night cycle where you must balance building up your settlement and exploring the wilderness around you to hunt for valuable resources during the day. As night descends, there’s a brief window of time where enemies are tougher, but the rewards get better. When the ‘death night’ starts for real you’ll want to be behind your walls.

It’s been 10 years since ‘A Dance with Dragons’ was published

Author George R. R. Martin’s most recent Game of Thrones novel, ‘A Dance with Dragons’ came out about a decade ago in July.

Game of Thrones wrapped up filming nearly two years ago, but it has been a decade since the most recent book in the series came out. Fans have been waiting for the next book Winds of Winter for forever now. George R. R. Martin keeps promising he is working on the novel, and this time he has promised he will complete it in early 2022. He said in an interview with WTTW recently that he thinks that his first priority, House of the Dragon, will “probably be on next spring” — and the next, long-awaited book in this series, The Winds of Winter.

Author George R. R. Martin’s most recent Game of Thrones novel, ‘A Dance with Dragons’ came out about a decade ago in July.

The last book to be published in the Game of Thrones series was A Dance with Dragons on July 12, 2011, almost 10 years ago. It had a lot of shocking and exciting stories, such as Jon Snow beheading Janos Slynt in the courtyard at Castle Black, Daenerys Targaryen mounting Drogon for the first time in Daznak’s Pit. There’s Cersei Lannister’s harrowing walk of shame, and there’s the Night’s Watch rebelling against Jon Snow.

However, Martin’s inability to write at a faster speed has deeply frustrated the fans. His long list of admirers has mostly turned into critics, which also includes famous literary figures such as horror icon Stephen King. Whether Martin likes it or not, it has been a lot of time since he last wrote a Game of Thrones book.

What are your favourite moments from A Dance with Dragons? Talk to us in the comments below!
