Kit Harington proposed to Andy Samberg during the Emmys

Kit Harington is one of the most popular TV stars currently and he has a crazy fan following and people would do anything to make sure that Kit proposes to them. Sadly, the Jon Snow actor is in a relation with his Game of Thrones co-star Rose Leslie, who played the role of Ygritte on Game of Thrones. However, during the 2016 Emmys, Kit got down on one knee, with a ring in his hand but the person on the other end wasn’t his girlfriend Rose, but his Emmys co-presenter Andy Samberg.

The two actors who have previously worked together in the HBO mocumentary, 7 Days in Hell were presenting together and they started off with some jokes before announcing the nominees in the Variety Talk Series category. The Emmy for the category was won by John Oliver for his HBO show, Last Week Tonight. However, before the winner was declared, there was a gag between Kit and Andy, where he told Andy, “There’s something else I want to celebrate tonight with you, Andy,” and got down on one knee.

In turn, Sandy replied “What, Kit, what are you doing? Here at the Emmys? I do!” Take a look at the video below.

Peter Dinklage lands his first win at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Game of Thrones has been doing quite well at its final awards season. The latest wins come from one of the most popular award ceremony, the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2020, and Game of Thrones has managed to get two wins. Read on!

We had recently reported about Game of Thrones bagging three nominations at the 2020 SAG awards. The show had two nominations in the Ensemble categories — Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series category, and the other in the Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series. The other nomination was for Peter Dinklage, in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series category, for his Season 8 performance as Tyrion Lannister.

Peter grabbed a win, and so did the stunt ensemble. Unfortunately the cast of the show lost the other ensemble award to Netflix’s The Crown.

The win was a first for Dinklage at the SAG Awards after six nominations throughout his career, all for playing Tyrion. He thanked the people of Northern Ireland for putting up with the show, and the show’s cast and his wife for putting up with him, in his acceptance speech. Check out a clip of the same:

Well, we hope Dinklage continues on to win more awards for his acting skills in the future. What do you guys think? Talk to us in the comments below!

Game of Thrones receives six nominations at the 18th Visual Society Effects Awards

Game of Thrones may not have won too many awards this season but has consistently received nominations at various awards. After getting two nominations at the 72nd DGA awards, the show has now received six nominations at the 18th Annual Visual Society Effects awards. Read on to find out more!

Visual Society Effects (VES) awards have been recognizing outstanding visual effects achievement in entertainment for the past 18 years. On January 8, the nominations were announced, and Game of Thrones bagged 6 nominations in a total of 5 categories. Here are the categories in which Game of Thrones has nominations:

Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode

Game of Thrones; “The Bells”

Outstanding Created Environment in an Episode, Commercial, or Real-Time Project

Game of Thrones; The Iron Throne; Red Keep Plaza

Outstanding Effects Simulations in an Episode, Commercial, or Real-Time Project

Game of Thrones; “The Bells”

Outstanding Compositing in a Photoreal Episode

Game of Thrones; “The Long Night”; Dragon Ground Battle

Game of Thrones; “The Bells”

Outstanding Special (Practical) Effects in a Photoreal or Animated Project

Game of Thrones; “The Bells”

Although the final season of Game of Thrones didn’t receive as much acclaim as their previous seasons, the quality of visual effects remained intact. Even the most ardent critic of the show will not be able to find the fault in the kind of work that went behind the special effects.

Game of Thrones receives six nominations at the 18th Visual Effects Society Awards

Thrones is going to get some tough competition from Disney’s The Mandalorian and other popular shows like Stranger Things. But we reckon Game of Thrones is going to grab at least some wins.

The VES Awards will be held on January 29 at Beverly Hilton Hotel and will be hosted by award-winning actor, comedian, and writer Patton Oswalt.

Well, what do you guys think about the nominations? Write to us in the comments below!

Game of Thrones actor Jonathan Pryce nominated for Best Actor at 2020 Oscars

The Game of Thrones cast has had some real gems, and we have seen them shine on, as well as outside of the show. One example of such a great actor is Jonathan Pryce, who has now landed a Best Actor nomination at the The 92nd Academy Awards, a.k.a. The Oscars. Read on!

The Academy today announced the full list of nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards, 2020, and the Best Actor category is looking especially good this year. Take a look:

Best actor in a leading role

Joaquin Phoenix, “Joker”
Adam Driver, “Marriage Story”
Leonardo DiCaprio, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”
Antonio Banderas, “Pain and Glory”
Jonathan Pryce, “The Two Popes”

Game of Thrones actor Jonathan Price nominated for Best Actor at 2020 Oscars

Jonathan Pryce played the role of the cult leader High Sparrow on Game of Thrones. The role gained him a lot of praise, and it was also pointed out that the High Sparrow seemed like a twisted take on the Pope, and that Pryce looked a lot like Pope Francis. Thats’s not all, Pryce even said he drew inspiration from Pope Francis to portray the High Sparrow. The best part is, Pryce played Pope Francis in The Two Popes, and this is the role for which he has now gained an Oscar nomination.

While we would love for Pryce to take this win, especially for the Pope connection, the category seems pretty locked with Joaquin Phoenix set to win, and Adam Driver pulling right behind him. The 2020 Oscars ceremony will be held on February 9th.

What do you guys think? Can Pryce win? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
