Kit Harington says he will rewatch entire Game of Thrones to say goodbye

Kit Harington says he will Rewatch Entire Game of Thrones to Say Goodbye

The final season of Game of Thrones is here, and beneath all the excitement there is the sad truth – it’s never going to come back. One way to cope with a GoT-less world is to rewatch the series all over again. That’s exactly what Kit Harington is going to do.

Game of Thrones made huge stars out of many a budding actors. Harington is perhaps the best example of this. In a recent interview with Mirror UK, the actor, who plays Jon Snow, shared his thoughts on life after Thrones, and how hard it was to say goodbye.

“I’m terribly sad about it ending and the words Game of Thrones are going to have the fondest feeling for me forever. I want to watch the final episode, go back and watch the whole thing once and then put it on the shelf and go, ‘Thank you’.

That’s how I’m going to say goodbye to it – watch what we did over eight years. It’ll take me hours and then I’ll really be done with it.”

The 32-year-old actor has several reasons to be fond of Game of Thrones. In 2011, Harington was a rookie drama school major and Jon Snow was an important side character at best. Eight years later, Jon is Aegon Targaryen, rightful heir to the Iron Throne and at the front and center of everything. Harington too has gone from being a promising debutant to one of the highest paid actors on TV.

Harington is mindful of the time that has passed, and his transformation. He reflects,

“I look back at who I was when I started Thrones and it’s emotional because that Kit is so different from me today. That Kit was just amazed at everything but now when I’m on a red carpet and there are flashbulbs, I take it for granted.”

By now he is aware of both the perks and pitfalls of fame. In his own words,

“Fame is a really odd situation. There are times when I’ve been a p**k and been egotistical. But I have always had people around who have been truthful with me and put me right.”

Kit Harington will Watch the Whole of Game of Thrones Again to Say Goodbye

One of those people is surely his wife Rose Leslie, whom he met on Game of Thrones sets. Leslie’s Ygritte was Jon Snow’s first, tragic love, but now he has moved on to Daenerys Targaryen, portrayed on-screen by Emilia Clarke. The fact that Leslie and Clarke are fast friends in real life did produce some awkwardness in their onscreen intimacy. Harington cheekily explains,

“Even though you’re actors and it’s your job, there’s an element of weirdness when the three of us are having dinner and we had a kissing scene that day.”

Game of Thrones has given him much, but what comes after that? Not another eight-years-long epic fantasy drama for sure! Harington is quite done with that format.

“I’m looking at theatre, limited series and movies. TV has really developed, which means I can do interesting drama. Just not with too many seasons!” Harington signs off.

What are you going to do to cope once Game of Thrones ends? Tell us in the comments!

Game of Thrones ending will upset some fans, says Sophie Turner while promising a “very satisfying” end for Sansa

Game of Thrones ending will upset some fans, says Sophie Turner, promising a "very satisfying" end for Sansa

Game of Thrones Season 8 finale drops in a few hours, and we are getting some last minute teases right about now. As one of the very few characters who have made it to the end, the fans have been awfully proud of Sansa Stark, and it seems like she will have a good ending, if Sophie Turner, who plays the character, is to be believed. Read on!

Sophie spoke to The Sunday Times Magazine about how the ending of the show might not please everybody. Speaking of her attachment to Sansa, she said:

“I’ve had a bit of an identity crisis to be honest, I’ve grown up for so many years as this character. If I wasn’t filming, I was promoting it, if I wasn’t promoting it then it was on TV. I was immersed in Sansa, so finally stepping out of it, I don’t actually know what I like to do or who I really am.”

She then went on to tease the finale of the show:

“It’s a great ending, from my perspective, it’s very satisfying. But I think a lot of people will be upset too.”

Well, given the show’s massive fan following, that was probably always bound to happen. What do you guys think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

Nicholas Hoult auditioned to play Jon Snow in Game of Thrones

Nicholas Hoult auditioned to play Jon Snow in Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones has had a respectable star cast, ranging from the young first-timers to the industry veteran actors. Over the past few years, we have heard of a lot of actors who auditioned for different parts on the show but didn’t land the roles. The latest of the bunch is Nicholas Hoult, who auditioned for the role of Jon Snow. Read on!

Nicholas Hoult auditioned to play Jon Snow in Game of Thrones

Nicholas Hoult was recently at the Montclair Film Festival, for the screening of his latest film, Tolkien, where he talked to Page Six about his shot at a role in Game of Thrones:

“I think I auditioned for Jon Snow. I remember it because I was filming ‘Clash of the Titans’ at the time, so I had long hair extensions. They gave me a ponytail and also a very patchy fake tan. So I remember being like, ‘This is probably not what they’re hoping for,’ and it obviously wasn’t.”

Of, course, the role went to Kit Harington in the end, who has done a great job with it. Had Hoult bagged the role, Game of Thrones would have looked quite different. Then again, what would Jon Snow be without the ever brooding Kit Harington?

“People are very angry,” says Pilou Asbæk (Euron) about Game of Thrones Season 8

"People are very angry," says Pilou Asbæk (Euron) about Game of Thrones Season 8

At the moment, Game of Thrones is having a bad run with the latest season becoming the lowest-rated season in the show. The show that has garnered love from fans and critics alike over the last decade, is now getting hate for rushing the final season. One of the latest deaths on the show was Euron Greyjoy. Actor Pilou Asbæk, who plays Euron, recently discussed the fans’ displeasure with the final season and more, in an interview with Insider. Read on!

Pilou was asked whom he was rooting for, now that Euron and Cersei were gone. He said:

“Who am I rooting for? I’m rooting for Dan and David. For them to be happy with what they have created.”

He was then asked if he thinks the showrunners will be happy with their creation:

“Yes, I think they will be, because right now, people are very angry. Some people are very angry and some people are very happy. I think, guys, just … please. Everyone has done the best work they could, under the circumstances they could, and I think it will stand the test of time. Honestly, I swear to God I think that. So I hope Dan and David are going to end up on the throne.”

Pilou also discussed how his character was different from the book Euron:

“100%. It’s two very different characters. I think Dan and David wanted a not-so-mysterious villain, the way he is in the books. They wanted to do something else. But you never, never know where a character is going. So you have to go with what you get. And I was just … you know … of course you always want more screen time. Because screen time often equals character development, and motivation. You can show different sides of a character.

But at the end of the day I’m a supporting cast member. I’m not one of the main cast members. So I’m here to support, that’s my job, that’s what I get paid for.”

Game of Thrones director reveals Sansa didn't blatantly reveal Jon's secret and Euron didn't pay attention to the baby talk

All said and done, Pilou seemed satisfied with his run on the show:

“I’m feeling great. I feel very, very thankful to be part of it. As an actor you always want more scenes, you want more stuff to work with, you want to have as much screen time as possible. But, that said, you’re also extremely thankful that you got to be a part of one of the biggest shows in the world.”

What do you guys think? Could Euron have been better? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
