Sophie Turner praises the end of Game of Thrones, calls it unpredictable

Game of Thrones has been quite a ride over the seven seasons that we’ve watched, and it is expected to amaze us one last time when Season 8 hits, in 2019. We have been hearing a lot of good things about Season 8, and the hype train has just begun taking steam. Season 8 filming has wrapped, and we’re hearing great things from the cast already. In a recent interview, Sophie Turner, who plays the role of Sansa Stark, recently teased the unpredictable end of the show, and praised it. Read on!

Sophie Turner teases Game of Thrones Season 8, calls it the bloodiest yet

Sophie recently talked to Digital Spy about Season 8, and she spoke about what she liked the most about this one:

“It really is so unpredictable the way that [the series] ends up.For me – without giving anything away, I guess – I was satisfied with how unpredictable the show’s ending really is.”

Speaking about expectations about the end of the show, she said:

“People have come up with so many fan theories about how it’s going to end, and who will end up where, and who will end up with who. It really is so unpredictable the way that it ends up. I’m very satisfied with that, and I think that the fans will be satisfied with that, too.Well, we hope. We’ll see!”

Now, as we know, the story of the show has moved past the story of the books on which it is based. Speaking of how well the showrunners have taken the story forward, Sophie said:

“They’re still doing justice to the story, and serving the characters in the way they feel like they should be.I mean, they definitely upped the ante [in the final episodes]. They’ve got nice, big battle scenes, that’s for sure.”

Well, of course they do. It’s the last time Game of Thrones is going to be back, it wouldn’t be right without the big battle sequences. She also spoke about the rumors that went around after the reveal of her show-end tattoo, the Stark sigil with the words “The Pack Survives”, which many fans considered to be a spoiler:

“That would be terrible, if I got the ending tattooed on my body, just before the last season came out. That would be so stupid.”

She further explains:

“We can heighten the life and death and the violence by using a supernatural figure within the storytelling. She brings the sauce, basically, is what I’m telling you.”

Revealing more about her character’s nature, Dormer says “she’s fundamentally a skeptic of humanity. She says in the first episode, ‘I give human beings a choice, but they choose time and time again to be seduced by the more baser, selfish roles.’”

Apart from Penny Dreadful, Dormer also has a production house under which she has decided to launch many interesting projects.

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels is set to premiere on Showtime on 26th April 2020. Let us know your thoughts on the first look in the comments below!

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau expresses his love for his favourite soccer team, Leeds United

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau expresses his love for Leeds United

Everyone needs saviors. It’s hard to say why but there is some instinct inside all of us that wants someone to come up and save the day for us. For instance, now that Game of Thrones is over, we wish for similar new shows to come and fill up our leisure; or a tidbit about how something from Westeros will return to enchant us again. The hit series actors-turned-celebrities are no different. They too are fans who turn their attention to things that would thrill them inside out. Today, we are talking about the intense lover from the seven kingdoms who would burn cities to the ground to reach his beloved; Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) and his love for the football team of Leeds United.

In a short clip by BBC Sports taken before the FA cup match between Leeds and Arsenal, Nikolaj briefed his journey of being a Leeds United fan and the trust and belief the fans have in Marcelo Bielsa; the manager/coach of the English Club from Yorkshire. The Danish actor was at a dramatic high and as serious as he would have been in Game of Thrones while explaining his love for Cersei. Sitting in the stands as a fan, he reminisced:

“The things I do for love. Game of Thrones and Leeds have more in common than you’d know. Drama, intrigue, love and loss, a battle for the throne. Fans from the Arctic to the Amazon via Belfast and Buenos Aires. Leeds United coursing through our veins like an all-consuming virus. I grew up in a small town in Denmark, my dad an Arsenal fan. Dad wanted me to be a Gooner too but I had grander plans. Early 90s, come to England, visit Elland Road, and once I’d heard the Leeds fans sing, a seed of love was sown. Though in 30 years, Leeds have had their ups and their many downs. Matteo and Beckford. Points deductions. Third division grounds. A long and winding list of failure, a swordsmith called the Hock.

21 coaches later, look who just rocked up. There’s a new ‘King in the North!’  You can smell it in the air. The ‘best coach in the world’ come to save us from despair. And tonight, the thoughts of ’72 when Leeds last won this cup. Beating Arsenal. ‘Clarke, 1-0!’ Billy Bremner lifts it up. Now whisper it quietly Leeds, but we think Marcelo Bielsa may be the one. The Godfather who coached Leeds to play again, just like they did for Don. Come on Leeds!”

Watch the video to see how he made his fan-love into a lovely dramatic monologue.

In between shots, Nikolaj held a banner as an audience; which read, “Leeds United. In Bielsa We Trust.” This is not the first time he has expressed his faith in Marcelo Bielsa. Just before the final season of Game of Thrones was about to air, he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and teased the audience into believing that there’s a secret character called Bielsa who would show up and magically transform the world into a paradise. He did quickly reveal though that it was the manager of Leeds United that he was talking about.

It’s strangely beautiful to see our favorite characters be as human and goofy as their fans. The golden Lannister boy was always cheeky, and seeing Nikolaj we can certainly tell how! So, what are your reactions? Talk to us in the comments.
