Game of Thrones has had a good run with Season 6, and now that the awards season is here, we get to see what happens with all those nominations that this season got for Game of Thrones. The 74th Golden Globe Awards ceremony was just held, and Game of Thrones had a nomination for the Best Drama Series, and actress Lena Headey who played Cersei Lannister in the series, had a nomination for Best Supporting Performance by an Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film category, and as it happened, neither won. The show lost to Netflix’s The Crown, while Lena Headey lost to Olivia Colman from The Night Manager.

Naturally, Game of Thrones fans who had been anticipating the results and waiting for a win, were awfully disappointed. They took to twitter to express their disappointment. Check out some of the tweets, below :

Some fans seemed to be okay with the results of the Golden Globe awards, too:

While some of the fans were particularly disappointed by Lena Headey’s loss :

…and started to question why Lena wasn’t present at the Globes :

In the meantime, Lena herself seemed to not be bothered that she won, but was rather focusing on Meryl Streep’s speech for the evening :

Well, we will just be positive and say that we have two more years left before our favorite show ends, and we hope to see a lot more nominations and at least a few more awards before that happens. Considering how every season of Game of Thrones has been better than the last one, we feel there is a pretty good chance that the series will manage to bag some Golden Globes (and other awards, as well, for that matter) before it finally retires.
