Though people around the world do not want Game of Thrones to ever end, we all still can’t hold on and not speculate about what next. The questions are myriad, ranging from who will sit on the Iron Throne to whether Jon Snow is alive or not. What happened to Daenerys and did Bran actually have an encounter with the Night’s king?
But well, the showrunners have made it clear that the show is going to get over real soon now. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss told Variety that though there are two more seasons to go, there will be less number of episodes (Around 13) in both of them combined.
David, while talking about the final lap said that, “I think we are down to our final thirteen episodes after this season. We are heading into final lap.”
But while they were talking, the executive producer took over and said that, “That’s the guess, though nothing is yet set in stone, that’s what we are looking at.”
Though there have been other further sources who said that these are not the exact same plans since the showrunners have just started to work on the outlines for rest of the seasons.
Then again, it’s the directors who get the decide how the show will come about. David and D.B. feels that the reason they want less episodes to be there is so that there can be more focus on each episode which kind of makes complete sense but then we don’t want lesser episodes in the coming seasons.
As much as the world is curious about knowing who ends up on the throne and what happens to all the characters and dragons and White Walkers, nobody wants the show to come to an end, not this soon at least.
