Game of Thrones is coming to an end in the next two years, and we know that most of us will have a severe existential crisis once the show gets over. And to get our hands on whatever that has anything to do with Game of Thrones, would be our first instinct two seasons later. To curb our worries, if the show runners decide to do a movie or a spinoff, we’d be the most grateful ones. It could be anything, and turns out that one of the stars of our favourite show also seems to think like us.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, proposed that he would be up for a Game of Thrones spinoff were it ever to happen, and he’s got some interesting ideas. During an interview with the New York Times, he said, “There are so many ways you could go, and let’s milk it. Let’s do it for the rest of our careers — just ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoffs.”
And after he was given a few options as to whom it could be about, Nikolaj picked a fan-favourite pairing, that of Brienne and Jaime getting an apartment together. “What you call that, ‘roommates?'” he said. “But it has to be a sitcom, though, and it has to have a laugh track,” he continued. “Then I would do it in a heartbeat. I thought we’d have a season where we just did the whole thing in a cabaret. Varys would be the owner of the club, because I know Conleth Hill would be amazing at that. And we’d all come in and do little things.”
Whether or not something like that does happen, one thing is for sure, fans would certainly be up for it.
