“The Sowing of the Seeds” begins in House of the Dragon as the Blacks aim to increase their strength
The sowing of the seeds begins!

Season 2 of House of the Dragon is certainly intensifying, with the Targaryens right at the heart of the conflict. The season will mainly concentrate on the offspring of the feuding Targaryen parents. Moreover, the Targaryens’ illegitimate children, referred to as the Dragonseeds, are set to have a pivotal role, a storyline that has been shown in the latest episode of House of the Dragon Season 2.

House of the Dragon teases the Dragonseeds
In the last episode of House of the Dragon, Rhaenyra and Jacaerys were seen discussing finding new riders for the riderless dragons in Dragonstone. These riders will be known as the Dragonseeds in Fire & Blood, who have Valyrian heritage in their blood. In episode 6, we see Rhaenyra first trying Ser Steffon Darklyn to mount on Seasmoke, but failing in a blazing fury.
Although Rhaenyra’s plan doesn’t work out, her logical reasoning behind it isn’t wrong, because we see Seasmoke claim Addam of Hull later in the episode. Addam of Hull is supposed to be Corlys Velaryon’s bastard son, which will add more heft to Rhaenyra’s plans for the spare dragons.

Which Dragonseeds have been confirmed so far?
In House of the Dragon, we have seen Hugh Hammer and Ulf White, and also seen their respective dragons Vermithor (in Season 1) and Silverwing (in the stamp collection that was recently released). Moreover, we have seen Addam of Hull claiming Seasmoke, who is a Velaryon bastard. Unfortunately, one Dragonseed was removed from the show’s storyline. Instead of Nettles, it seems like Rhaena will be the rider of Sheepstealer.
