Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is raging into a raging tempest, and the Targaryens are smack in the middle of it. Season 2 will mostly focus on the children of a feud that began with the parents in the same ruling house. And not just them, the illegitimate children of the Targaryens, the Dragonseeds, will also be pulled into it.

Who are the Dragonseeds?

Targaryen bastards conceived outside of marriage were referred to as “dragonseeds”. During the time of The Dance of the Dragons, Queen Rhaenyra’s side had more dragons than dragonriders, so her eldest son welcomed anybody to try their hand at communicating with a dragon. Hugh Hammer, Ulf the White, Nettles, and Addam of Hull were only a few of the many who tried, but only a few were successful. Even if they weren’t all Targaryen bastards, they were all recognized as Dragonseeds despite the fact that it hasn’t been verified.

Who are playing the Dragonseeds in House of the Dragon?

Last month when the show was filming on the beaches of North Wales, locals were able to capture glimpses of characters shooting in full costume. According to several speculations, they were the Dragonseeds, played by the following actors:

  • Clinton Liberty – Addam Velaryon
  • Kieran Bew – Hugh Hammer
  • Leon Ockenden – Ulf the White
  • Abubakar Salim – Alyn Velaryon
  • An unidentified actor playing Nettles
  • An unknown dragonseed played by Parker Lapaine

Out of these, Addam Velaryon will be claiming Seasmoke, Laenor’s dragon, Hugh Hammer will claim Vermithor, Ulf White will claim Silverwing, and Nettles will befriend Sheepstealer. The others will most likely fail to claim a dragon and be turned into fodder, with the exception of Alyn.
