We knew we would be witnessing many deaths in the latest season of House of the Dragon, but we never anticipated the death spree to start in the very first episode itself. As Daemon sent Blood and Cheese to King’s Landing to kill Aemond, they instead thought it better to slay Aegon II’s young son.
The duo left Halaena traumatized as she witnessed the death of her son. Now, as seen in the promo for episode 2, we can expect a royal funeral to take place in the upcoming episode of House of the Dragon season 2. The masses along with the royal family will mourn the loss of their heir. Moreover, the episode might feature an angry mob as a few images during filming suggested that Alicent and Halaena struggle to make their way out of the funeral.

While the Greens deal with such a saddening loss, things on the other side of the war are not faring well either.
Rhaenyra loses trust in Daemon
Though Daemon did what he thought best, his actions will have far-reaching consequences on the war. Rhaenyra had a stronger claim to the throne since most wrongdoings were restricted to the Greens. However, in leveling the playing field for revenge, Daemon has put his wife in a precarious position.
In the promo, Rhaenyra claims that she has lost her faith in Daemon. He has also weakened her claim to the throne. As both factions grapple with the situation at hand, it will certainly be very exciting to see the war unravel and threaten to shake their worlds.
