Anonymous Emmy voter plans to vote against House of the Dragon: “You couldn’t pay me to watch [that]”

House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel, appears to be taking its predecessor’s cues very seriously. The program has already won The Golden Globe for Best Drama and has received several nominations for this year’s Emmy Awards. However, things are not looking too good for the HBO fantasy epic, as the show seems to have lost one Emmy vote, already.
House of the Dragon could not convince one anonymous Emmy voter
A Producers Peer Group member of the TV Academy candidly discussed the current Emmy competition with THR‘s Scott Feinberg.
The member said, “You couldn’t pay me to watch House of the Dragon — I was a Game of Thrones person, but I watched 10 minutes of this and read the reviews and it just seemed like a money grab.” He also declared that his vote would be going to Succession, another one of this year’s top contenders.
House of the Dragon recently won an Emmy for Outstanding Costume
The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes also caused the award shows, including the highly anticipated Emmys, to be postponed. Certain categories, like costumes and sound, have their winners revealed before the event itself.
With an official announcement recently, the Television Academy named House of the Dragon the winner in the Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes category.
