A Game of Thrones reunion may happen at the 75th Emmy Awards

The most decorated television program ever is Game of Thrones. In 2015, after receiving 12 nominations out of a possible 24, the program broke the record for most Primetime Emmy Awards won by a series in a single year. No other show has surpassed the record, to date. Often hailed as the greatest fantasy show of the 21st century, the series will be commemorated at the Emmy Awards 2023.

Game of Thrones cast might be reunited at Emmy Awards 2023

HBO’s fantasy epic Game of Thrones is among the 12 shows such as All in the Family, Friends and Grey’s Anatomy that will be commemorated at the 75th Emmy Awards. In a recent press conference, executive producer Dionne Harmon said, “The core of it, is really celebrating television and to honor the shows of yesterday while we honor the shows of today.”

“We just tried to pick ones that we felt like we could successfully pay tribute to,” another executive producer Jesse Collins said. “We have a pretty vast array of comedies and procedural dramas and talk shows, just trying to touch all the different areas. We have a great ‘Game of Thrones’ moment”

Producers did not provide information on who would appear and warned against expecting everyone from each show.

House of the Dragon Emmy nominations

House of the Dragon is following in its predecessor’s footsteps, securing eight nominations. The show has received nominations in the following categories:

Outstanding Cinematography For A Series (One Hour)
Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes
Outstanding Period And/Or Character Makeup (Non-Prosthetic)
Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup
Outstanding Drama Series
Outstanding Short Form Nonfiction Or Reality Series
Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour)
Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie

Out of these, House of the Dragon won the Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes award on the first night of the award season.
