The cast of House of the Dragon was missing from Emmy Awards 2023, here’s why

The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards were quite eventful, to say the least. From Pedro Pascal and Kieran Culkin’s “rivalry” to Succession’s massive win, there were several ups and downs at the ceremony. However, there was very little for House of the Dragon fans at the award show, as none of the celebs from the series were seen at the event.

Why House of the Dragon stars were absent from Emmy 2024

Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon couldn’t live up to its predecessor. The show won only a single creative award for costume design on Night 1 of the Emmys, and none in the main event.

Despite the second season currently in post-production, the show’s cast and creatives must have sensed it coming; looking at how the cast was snubbed at nominations, and most of the predictions hinted towards Succession’s win, postulates Elle, and we agree. The cast likely simply cut their costs by not flying all the way from the UK to a ceremony they knew wasn’t going to be fruitful for them.

House of the Dragon might possibly be released in August 2024

In addition to teasing what may be expected in the next chapter, the teaser concluded with the news that it will be released in the summer of 2024. When questioned about the date on a recent podcast, Matt Smith, who portrays Prince Daemon Targaryen in the program, clarified it even further by responding, “August, I think, it’s this summer.”
