Who is Sharako Lohar?
Sharako Lohar, aligned with the Green faction of House Targaryen during the Dance of the Dragons, commands a massive fleet for the Triarchy of the Three Cities. Her involvement is vital in the Battle of the Gullet, one of the bloodiest sea battles in Westeros’ history and a significant conflict in the civil war. We may see this battle early in the next season, and this makes Lohar a pivotal character in the series.
House of the Dragon’s Sharako Lohar combines two characters into one. Lohar’s personality comes from the Fire and Blood character Racallio Ryndoon.
In the book, Ryndoon is a Tyroshi pirate and captain-general. He fought in the War for the Stepstones against Daemon Targaryen and Lord Corlys Velaryon during King Viserys I’s reign.
In the book, Lohar was caught in the Battle of the Gullet when the Triarchy set out to break the Velaryon blockade, resulting in a bloody sea battle. In the process, the Triarchy captured the ship The Gay Abandon and kidnapped Prince Viserys Targaryen, Rhaenyra’s son. During the battle, Jacaerys Velaryon lost his life, shot down by Triarchy archers.

Sharako Lohar in House of the Dragon
Abigail Thorn, known for her work on Philosophy Tube, portrays Sharako Lohar in House of the Dragon. Her portrayal has sparked discussions in entertainment news. Lohar’s physical description was different in Fire and Blood, and was portrayed as a male.
The character’s sex has been changed to female in the show. Though she personally identifies as a woman, her society genders her as a man because of her leadership role as a fleet commander.
In the House of the Dragon season finale, Lohar demands that Tyland Lannister defeat her in a bout of mud wrestling before deciding to help the Greens. It’s then revealed that she is in a polyamorous relationship and tells Tyland to sleep with her wives. By the end of the episode, she appears alongside Tyland with the Triarchy’s fleet. They head to Westeros as the armies of the realm assemble.
