George R.R. Martin says the cast of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms looks straight “out of the pages” of his book
There’s still hope for Dunk & Egg
HBO is gearing up to expand George R. R. Martin‘s universe with a new series called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The show will adapt Martin’s novella series, The Tales of Dunk and Egg. With production underway, Martin has shared some thoughts on the show’s cast, and his remarks are quite encouraging.
George R.R. Martin loves the cast of House of the Dragon
Though George R.R. Martin is currently at odds with HBO, he is appreciative of his spinoffs in development. Talking to THR in a recent interview, the author said, “I visited the set in Northern Ireland in July and loved what I saw. Great cast. [The lead characters] Dunk and Egg look as if they walked out of the pages of my book. My readers are going to love them. I certainly do. [Showrunner Ira Parker] is doing a great job.”
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms began filming in July
Martin is really excited about the work going on with his Dunk & Egg novels. In a previous blog, he announced:
“I had been planning our European trip for some time. The Dunk & Egg show would start filming in July and I wanted to visit the shoot in Northern Ireland, and a month later there would be a worldcon in Glasgow. I had not been to a worldcon since the Dublin convention in 2019 (we won’t count Covid Con, the New Zealand worldcon in 2020 that went all virtual) and I wanted to return.”
