After Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom concluded the previous DCEU, Warner Bros. is moving forward significantly with DC Studios. The new DCU led by Peter Safran and James Gunn will be a reboot of the franchise, bringing in fresh faces and characters.

Gunn has a vision for the upcoming DCU; it will be a fantasy much like the one set in Westeros.

James Gunn’s DCU will be an epic fantasy like Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones was the biggest show of the century, despite a controversial finale. George R. R. Martin’s Westeros served as an escape from reality for millions of fans, including James Gunn. In a recent episode of Inside of You, Gunn compared the famous cities of DC to Westeros. He said,

JAMES GUNN: Taking Over DC, Legacy of GOTG & The Future of Lex Luthor

“One of the things that I love about DC, that excites me about DC, is that in a way it’s another alternate history. It is Gotham City and Metropolis and Star City and Bludhaven, and all these different places in this other reality. It makes it a little bit like Westeros in some ways.”

House of the Dragon’s Milly Alcock might join the DCU

Rapid progress is being made on a number of DC projects. New cast members are being unveiled every other day. According to a recent source, Milly Alcock, Emilia Jones, and Meg Donnelly will screen test for the DCU Supergirl role.

It is likely that the character will make her screen debut as a cameo in a DCU production rather than in a Supergirl movie.
