Season 2 of House of the Dragon is almost at an end, and it has been quite the ride. This season has enriched the world of Westeros, from awe-inspiring dragon battles to tragic deaths and brutal war campaigns. With the season finale approaching, fans are eager to know what big moments will conclude the season.
Last year, we saw the brutal scene where Vhagar killed Lucerys and Arrax, a moment now immortalized in the show’s intro sequence. The trailer for the Season 2 finale teases more spectacular events to come. Read on for a breakdown.

The Winter Wolves arriving at the Twins
The trailer starts with armies gathering for battle, featuring the Winter Wolves arriving at the Twins, the castle of House Frey. Jace took this castle a few episodes back to create a path for Cregan Stark’s armies to enter the Riverlands. Leaks suggest that Lord Cregan himself may lead this army, though he is not visible in the trailer.

Tessarion the Blue Queen
A Hightower army is shown gathering with a blue dragon flying above them. This dragon is likely Tessarion, belonging to Daeron Targaryen, making his first appearance. Daeron, fostered in Oldtown by the Hightowers, fought alongside Ormund Hightower in one of the book’s early battles of the Dance of the Dragons.

Seasmoke, Syrax and Caraxes at Harrenhal
Caraxes is seen roaring while Syrax and Seasmoke appear in the distance, flying above the Gods Eye lake. Another shot shows Syrax flying over a camp with the Tully banner, indicating their arrival in the Riverlands. This suggests Rhaenyra may head to Harrenhal with Addam to meet with Daemon, possibly resolving their conflict.

Rhaenyra and the Dragonseeds
Another shot shows Rhaenyra with her new dragonseeds around a dinner table, seemingly instructing them on their roles in the war.

Alyn mobilizing the Velaryon troops
Alyn of Hull is seen mobilizing Velaryon troops, wearing armor with the seahorse sigil, suggesting an upcoming naval battle, possibly the Battle of the Gullet. A later shot also shows Lord Corlys ready for battle, with his Hand of the King pin placed on his armor chest piece.

Ser Alfred Broome at Harrenhal
The trailer shows Daemon’s army at Harrenhal, including Ser Alfred Broome, who Rhaenyra sent to negotiate with Daemon. Alfred informs Daemon that Rhaenyra has faltered, unaware of the new dragonriders she’s gained since he left Dragonstone.
A mention of Dreamfyre
For the first time, Helaena’s dragon Dreamfyre is mentioned by name. Aemond suggests Helaena ride Dreamfyre into battle. However, Alicent scolds Aemond during this conversation, possibly forbidding Helaena from joining the war. In the book, Helaena never rides Dreamfyre into battle.

Aemond and Vhagar at a burning port town
Aemond is seen riding Vhagar above a burning port town, possibly Duskendale, which Criston Cole and the Greens took in an earlier episode. This town is where Ser Steffon Darklyn’s father, Ser Gunthor Darklyn, was executed by Criston Cole.

Triarchy Fleet
A fleet of ships appears, likely belonging to the Triarchy of the Free Cities. This fleet is tied to several key plot points, including the Battle of the Gullet.

Sharako Lohar
The trailer shows Triarchy Admiral Sharako Lohar, portrayed by Abigail Thorne, wrestling with someone in a mud pit, possibly Tyland Lannister. This scene adds a new dynamic, as Sharako was male in the books.
