While the news of House of the Dragon has captured our attention extensively, HBO is starting production on yet another Game of Thrones spinoff. Based on George R.R. Martin’s short stories, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will follow the lead characters Dunk and Egg on their adventures across Westeros.
The story will seemingly be away from the clutches of the Iron Throne ambition. It will be a fresh perspective and a refreshing storyline to witness for all the Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon fans.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms begins filming
According To Redanian Intelligence and other sources, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has begun filming. However, we have not seen any official confirmation from HBO or any other official channel, but that’s not unusual. The show will feature Dunk and Egg as they traverse across Westeros. Readers loved the short stories and HBO is confident that the show will fare well too.
Taking place nearly a century before the events of A Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms compiles the first three official prequel novellas to George R. R. Martin’s ongoing masterwork, A Song of Ice and Fire.
HBO did share the official synopsis of the show that read,
A century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.
Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell will be playing the lead of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. HBO had finalized the cast and crew a while back. So, it won’t come as a surprise that production for the show has begun. Moreover, the HBO CEO revealed that the show might get a release date in late 2025. Seems like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is right on schedule and may premiere sooner than fans realize.
