Aemond and Aegon had a secret conversation in House of the Dragon Episode 8

House of the Dragon episode 8 was about love, hate, and everything in between. We can not choose one moment to be the highlight of the scene because there was one jaw-dropping moment after the other. One of the season’s best scenes so far was Viserys’ Last Supper. It truly summarized the way both sides behave. Everything seems fine as long as King Viserys is present, but their true colors come out only in his absence. Observant fans shared there is another conversation that we are not privy to. Aegon and Aemond have a chat before the guests fill the room, but it is left uncaptioned and can only be heard through earphones. Here’s what it is.
Aegon is heard telling Aemond, “You do not drink enough,”
Aemond: “You drink more than a Braavosi Sea Lord.”
Aegon ends the talk of drinks, saying, “I drink just the right amount.”
After a brief pause, probably because guests will be arriving soon, the one-eyed prince remarks, “Even when the noose is so tight, they expect us to break bread.”
The children seem more tightly strung than the adults, jumping at each other’s throats, especially Aemond. Since they were little, Alicent made it clear to her children that Rhaenyra and her family were their enemies.
The reason behind not captioning the short conversation is unknown. Did the HBO producers decide to leave this as a small easter egg for headphone users? Try rewatching the scene with your headphones on. Let us know if we missed something by joining our discord server!
