Her love for acting began in school where she chose to participate in stage productions. A mere hobby and love for the craft soon became a full-time profession that garnered Clarke worldwide fame and stardom. Since then, there has been no stopping her. Clarke likes being called the Mother of Dragons, but she is trying to mold her career and include more diverse roles.

Emilia Clarke movies and TV shows
From romance and comedy to horror and thriller, Clarke has shone in every possible genre. Her expressive face reveals her innermost emotions, making it easier for the audience to resonate with her character. Here’s a list of Emilia Clarke’s movies and TV shows that you should watch if you haven’t already.
Game of Thrones
Every Emilia Clarke fan must have watched this incredible HBO drama show that depicted the actress at her best. In the 8-season-long stint, she portrayed Daenerys Targaryen, who believes she is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. Her father was betrayed and ousted by a rebellion that threw her family to the vultures. All her life, she strived to gain respect and dignity back while trying to conquer Westeros.
On the backs of her beloved dragons and with the help of loyal soldiers she met along the way, Daenerys manages to earn the love and respect of people around her. However, the Targaryen madness runs in their genes and it eventually catches up with her. After being denied her right for so long, Daenerys’s rage multiplies tenfold and she burns the whole city to the ground.
Secret Invasion
No Marvel fan would forget Talos, who was first seen in the movie Captain Marvel from Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Emilia Clarke portrayed G’iah, the Shapeshifting, Skrull daughter of Talos in the sequel to Captain Marvel, Secret Invasion. This 6-episode series showcases G’iah and Talos, stuck in a global conflict caused by a group of renegade Skrulls.
Much like in Game of Thrones, Clarke’s character development is very noticeable. In Secret Invasion, G’iah starts off as a clueless, hardened extremist but when she finds out about her mother’s Soren’s cause of death, the circumstances change. She grows an understanding of the situation and triumphs over the renegade Skrulls to form a proper alliance with the humans.

Me Before You
In this heart-wrenching romantic flick, the actress plays Louisa Clarke, a happy-go-lucky girl who cannot hold a job. She is clumsy and a bit lost in her own world which makes it harder for her to work with full focus. Things change when she is offered a job as a caretaker to a rich brat who becomes paralyzed after an accident.
If Clarke’s roles were mapped on a scale, Daenerys Targaryen and Louisa Clarke would be on the two ends of the same. As compared to her sullen and raging character in the HBO show, she is happier and calmer in the movie. This just goes on to show how talented Clarke is at every role she signs on to play. Her depth of emotions resonates with the audience perfectly.
Terminator: Genisys
Emilia Clarke takes up the mantle of one of the most iconic female protagonists, Sarah Connor in the Sci-Fi film Terminator Genisys. Clarke brings a fresh perspective to the character, showcasing Sarah with fierce determination. She highlights Sarah’s journey from fighter to leader amidst a battle against Skynet.
This role marks a significant shift from her character in Game of Thrones, showcasing her versatility as an actress. Clarke’s Sarah Connor is both tough and emotionally complex, which can be seen in her interactions with Jai Courtney, who plays Kyle Reese, adding depth to their characters’ relationship and the overall narrative. Through her portrayal, Clarke left a memorable imprint on everyone.
Solo: A Star Wars Story
Characterized by resilience and complexity, Emilia Clarke plays Qi’ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story. This character, which presents Qi’ra as a survivor navigating the underworld, differs greatly from her previous roles. Qi’ra is in a morally gray area, in contrast to the vicious Mad Queen and the vivacious Louisa Clarke.
It is this depth that Clarke’s performance embodies, showing that she can play a variety of roles and give them a lot more to do. Being Qi’ra solidifies her reputation as a versatile actress who can connect with viewers through a range of interesting and captivating roles.
Last Christmas
Emilia Clarke performed Kate from Last Christmas very skillfully, with a crazy yet charming character. A bit of a mess, Kate is a young woman who works as an elf in a Christmas store and is struggling with making poor choices and feeling lost in her life.
In addition to love, healing, and the magic of Christmas, the movie depicts Kate’s path of self-discovery. Kate is made approachable and human by Clarke’s portrayal, which reflects her maturation and vulnerability. Through Kate, Clarke delves into a lighter, more humorous side, contributing yet another complex character to her already impressive roster.
Emilia Clarke height and age
- Emilia Clarke’s height: 1.57 m
- Emilia Clarke’s age: 37 years old
Born on October 23, 1986, in London, England, Clarke’s name at birth was Emilia Isobel Euphemia Rose Clarke. To enter the industry that remembered short and memorable names, she chose to drop the middle names. Growing up in Oxfordshire, she always felt a bit alienated since the people around her were a bit snobby and posh. Clarke never really fit in with that crowd. Eventually, she made it out and chose to focus on her passion for acting. She landed several crucial roles despite her young age and petite figure. Clarke embodied Daenerys Targaryen’s personality wonderfully.
