On Game of Thrones, one of the most important characters was Peter Dinklage‘s Tyrion Lannister. Like Tyrion, Peter had to go through a lot in his life. He succeeded after years of determined, hard work. Dinklage has portrayed several well-known characters throughout his career, from Marvel’s X-Men and Avengers to the Chronicles of Narnia. His reaction to fans getting his tattoos is a reminder of his humility, despite being one of Hollywood’s mainstays.

Dinklage is well aware of the struggles one has to go through to achieve the level of fame he has in the film industry. It is one of the reasons why he never takes his success for granted. On a recent episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, Dinklage was shown how a number of Game of Thrones fans got tattoos of his character, Tyrion Lannister. Though in awe of the artwork, he said:

“Well, I have tattoos. It’s a painful process. And it’s a long process. And you feel like your skin is being scooped out at moments. Um, why – At the end of that, why would you have me?”
