Maisie Williams on becoming famous before even getting on social media
Williams was quite young when she got famous for playing Arya on Game of Thrones. She was widely known even before she had an Instagram account. She recalled in an interview with People, “I never have to look back and say, ‘I can’t believe I posted that!”
“I was famous before I had Instagram. I don’t have to worry about my digital profile. I mean, there’s still like, awkward photos of me being 16 years old that I’d rather the whole world not see. But that’s just the the perils of being a young actor.”
Maisie Williams felt lost during her time on Game of Thrones
When Maisie Williams first began filming Game of Thrones, she was quite young. At the tender age of 12, her character, Arya, quickly rose to popularity. But for little Maisie, all that renown was too much. She said in a recent interview:
“I was so lost for so long and I knew that I was, and when I couldn’t pin down what I felt my identity was within that, it brought me a lot of discomfort. Now I feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin. It’s hard to even put myself back there and talk about how tough it was just because I think it’s done.”
