Peter Dinklage has come a long way, from playing Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones to the upcoming Toxic Avenger Reboot. He will now be seen in a dark comedy that will see him fight for home ownership in the film American Dreamer.

What is the American Dreamer about?

American Dreamer is based on a true tale from the This American Life podcast. It will be similar in tone to Melfi’s St. Vincent. Dr. Phil Loder (Dinklage) is a low-level adjunct professor of economics at Harvard whose ambition of purchasing a home is sadly out of reach. It is not until a spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity presents itself. A lonely, childless, near-death widow (Shirley MacLaine) sells Phil her huge estate for pennies. But Phil soon realizes the bargain is too good to be true.
