Peter Dinklage quotes infamous Game of Thrones finale line at 2023 Emmy Awards
Game of Thrones was the biggest show of the 21st century. Perhaps that’s why it hurt a large majority of the fanbase when the final season failed miserably. Despite that, the HBO fantasy holds the record for the most number of Primetime Emmy wins. For that reason, the show was commemorated at this year’s ceremony, with the Iron Throne and the series’ alum Peter Dinklage making a special appearance.
Peter Dinklage quotes the infamous “story” line
Bran becoming the King of the Six Kingdoms was a scarring event for a lot of Game of Thrones fans, but Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion declaring him as the rightful King probably stung a lot more. Hence, while announcing the nominees for Best Drama, when Dinklage blurted out that line, it brought back memories of the controversial finale. Here’s what the Game of Thrones alum said (via westerosies on X):
“There’s nothing in the world more powerful than a good story. Nothing can stop it. No enemy can defeat it. And who has a better story than these eight nominees?”

House of the Dragon failed to score big at Emmy Awards 2023
The Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon didn’t really have a good night at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. The spinoff show only managed to secure a single award at the creative Emmys held on the first night. The main event was even worse, as the HBO epic had to return empty-handed, losing the Outstanding Drama title to Succession.
