Fans of House of the Dragon were left wanting more after watching the first season, and the program was renewed for a second season before the season finale ever aired. The second season may take some time to release because it requires a lot of effort, patience, forethought, departmental collaboration, and funding. Recently, some important information regarding the screenplay for Season 1 was made public.
Rhaenyra called Alicent a wh*re on her betrothal to King Viserys
When King Viserys announced his marriage to Alicent Hightower, the world crumbled down around young Rhaenyra. Though there’s not a lot of on-screen interaction between the two, a number of deleted scenes have shed more light on the conversation that was supposed to take place, leading up to Alicent’s marriage ceremony. A part of the script that reflected the same was highlighted on Reddit by u/Maegor-Velaryon.
A deleted scene in Season 1 had Rhaenyra flirting with Alicent
The whole screenplay for the first episode is available to read here, which was released by HBO. According to the original draft for the House of the Dragon pilot episode, Alicent and Rhaenyra had flirtatious lines. The script reads as follows:
ALICENT: Then you’d best change out of your riding clothes.
RHAENYRA: Come with me?
(flirting)
