Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is the most hyped show of 2022. So far it has checked out all the parameters that were placed before its premiere. One of them being the casting of actors for various roles, and just like its predecessor, House of The Dragon has managed to impress the audience in that field as well. Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who was eagerly waiting to watch the prequel show, was quite surprised to find out that it had Lannisters as well, though he didn’t like them very much.

Coster-Waldau told Metro.UK, “I didn’t think there would be any Lannisters, but suddenly, I just saw a clip with a Lannister, who seemed very smug. And then he also had a twin and I was like, oh my god, they have Lannister twins as well! They have the whole package. Of course, I’m sure there’s also – being Targaryen – a lot of incest going on.”

He also said that it felt “very familiar and very different at the same time“. He added, “It looks great. You can see that Miguel [Sapochnik], who directed a lot of the big, big episodes on Game of Thrones is the showrunner on this one, and you can see they’ve gone for the same aesthetic, if you will.”

“It is the same world. It is King’s Landing, but of course, they’ve twisted it. So I can see that it’s a continuation, or I guess it’s before… but it is the same feel, the same world. And they have a massive budget on blonde wigs.”

Coster-Waldau also assured that he will catch up with House of the Dragon at some point in the future. Do you agree with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau? Talk about your fondest memories of Game of Thrones here.
