The second season of House of the Dragon ended on a mixed note. However, excitement for the third season remains high, and it seems like HBO is working on it concurrently along with other spinoffs. With the production estimated to be beginning in 2025, it seems like the prep will begin by the end of this year.

Pre-production for House of the Dragon Season 3 begins in October

Fans have a lot to look forward to in House of the Dragon Season 3. While HBO is busy getting A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms off the rails, work on the Targaryen saga seems to be already underway. According to Production List, pre-production of House of the Dragon Season 3 will reportedly begin on October 31, 2024.

House of the Dragon Season 3 is already been written

HBO had ordered a third season of House of the Dragon even before the second season hit the TV screens. In a recent interview, Condal confirmed that writing for the third season is well underway. He explained that such advanced planning is necessary to adhere to the schedule of releasing a new House of the Dragon season biennially. As the adaptation progresses, the show’s endgame becomes increasingly clear.
