A new House of the Dragon deleted scene shows Rhaenys consoling Laena after getting rejected by Viserys

In the second episode of House of the Dragon, Corlys seeks to persuade Viserys to marry his 12-year-old daughter, Laena Velaryon. The King is obviously disturbed, and he rejects her, choosing Alicent as his bride. What happens to Laena after the scene is never shown on-screen, but we can expect her to feel really sad, being groomed to be a good child-bearing wife. A new leak suggests there was more to the scene than was shown.

Rhaenys comforts her daughter after the rejection

Princes Rhaenys is a very wise woman, having fought her own battles in the world of men for years. She understood her daughter’s plight, and in a deleted scene that has recently come to light via the fansite Hotd Croatia, comforts her daughter after she was rejected by Viserys earlier in the episode. At the end of the scene, Vhagar’s growl was also heard.

A closer look at Alicent’s hairstyle from Rhaenyra’s wedding

Though Rhaenyra’s first wedding in Season 1 Episode 5 went downhill for all the bloody reasons, it shined brightly in the props and costume department. Sketches and early version vs final version of Alicent’s hairstyle were recently shared by the show’s hairstylist and make-up artist Tania Tyatyambo Couper on Instagram.
