Original House of the Dragon script included flirtatious lines between Alicent and Rhaenyra

Fans have been speculating about a probable romantic relationship between Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower ever since the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon debuted. During rehearsing, actors Milly Alcock and Emily Carey frequently highlighted the close bond between their roles.
Original House of the Dragon pilot script had flirting dialogue between Rhaenyra and Alicent
The first episode’s complete screenplay, which HBO just released, can be read in its entirety on Deadline. Young Rhaenyra and Alicent were supposed to be having a flirty relationship in the House of the Dragon pilot episode’s original script. The script reads:
ALICENT: Then you’d best change out of your riding clothes.
RHAENYRA: Come with me?

Emily Carey, who played young Alicent up until Episode 5, commented on the idea in a previous interview, “I mean, we kind of started that discourse. We were in the rehearsal room … I believe it’s Episode 4. It’s not necessarily something we had talked about yet. We were doing a scene, and Milly and I looked at each other like, ‘It kind of felt like we were about to kiss? That was really weird!’ And so we talked about it.”
