Game of Thrones’ Sean Bean (Ned Stark) stars in trailer for murder mystery “Shardlake”

One of the most adored characters on Game of Thrones when it debuted was Sean Bean‘s Ned Stark. Unfortunately, Sean’s character did not make it through the first season, something for which he is well-known. Bean will next be seen in an almost equally dangerous landscape, and fans are hoping he might survive this one. The Game of Thrones alum will now be seen in an upcoming crime thriller, Shardlake.

What is Shardlake about?

Sean Bean and Arthur Hughes play the main roles in the Disney+ series Shardlake, which is based on the novels of CJ Sansom. The Disney+ series, which is inspired by the novels of CJ Sansom, follows Hughes’ character Matthew Shardlake as he looks into the murder of a commissioner in a secluded Tudor village. In the trailer, Bean plays Thomas Cromwell, the man who sends the main character on his quest. The scene suggests drama, betrayal, and mystery.

The official synopsis reads:

“Drenched in mystery, suspense, and deception, this four-part drama, is an eerie whodunnit adventure set in 16th century England during the dissolution of the monasteries. Shardlake’s sheltered life as a lawyer is turned upside down when Cromwell instructs him to investigate the murder of one of his commissioners at a monastery in the remote town of Scarnsea.”

What is the release date for Shardlake?

The release date for Shardlake Season 1 is yet to be released. More details will be revealed as the show wraps up post-production. Sean Bean will also be seen in an upcoming action flick Deep Cover alongside House of the Dragon’s Paddy Considine.
