House of the Dragon loses the Best Drama Show Emmy award to Succession
Game of Thrones holds the record for the most Emmy wins in television history. Hopes were high with the prequel House of the Dragon as well. However, despite the massive praise from fans and critics, the spinoff failed to ignite a spark at this year’s Emmy Awards.
The show was completely overlooked at the main event, being one of the biggest snubs of the year.
House of the Dragon did not win a single award at Emmy’s main event
Despite the massive hype and expectations, House of the Dragon had no luck at this year’s Emmy Awards. Despite winning the Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes title on Day 1, the prequel show’s bag remained empty during the main night.
House of the Dragon even lost the Best Drama Series award too, to Succession, for which it was one of the strongest contenders.
Fans react to House of the Dragon’s Emmy snub
The news of House of the Dragon not winning a single award during Emmy’s main event did not sit well with the fans, especially after the show won The Golden Globe last year. A lot of them took to Twitter to express their disapproval:
We knew succession would win the awards. But having said that the last of us did get more Emmy wins than succession. Succession is amazing but I hope now house of the dragon and the last of us get more recognition

what was that? house of the dragon got no wins at tonight’s emmy’s? well maybe if they nominated paddy for the role of a lifetime maybe he would’ve taken it home

Especeally because that nasty show probably won't even make it to 2025 Emmys (House of the dragon will probably go to 2025 Emmys)

It's an absolute crime no one from House of the Dragon was nominated for the Emmys. Paddy Constantine should've been nominated and he would've won too
