Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon completed its first season last year, and we might have to wait for at least a year for the second season to arrive. The next big thing on HBO’s calendar is the TV adaptation of the popular game The Last of Us. Headed by two Game of Thrones alum as the leads, Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, it is one the most highly anticipated projects of 2023 and the premiere which aired on 15th Jan was a huge success. The viewership numbers are really high, and just like Game of Thrones, there’s a chance for spinoffs, prequels, and sequels for the franchise in the future.

Ramsey loves playing Ellie. In a recent interview with Elle, she said, “There’s no limits for me. They can do as many games as they like, as many series as they like, and I’ll be here, flying back out to Canada.”

On being asked about the future of The Last of Us series, showrunner Craig Mazin said that “everybody at HBO” would love to see more of the story, but they are not going to drag it forward unnecessarily. He said, “That’s not what we are. But to get to the end of the story in the time that we need to take to get to the proper end would be awesome. If I got to work on a set with Bella Ramsey every day for the rest of my life, I’d be thrilled.”
