While we’re already awaiting Season 2 of Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, one of the many prequels HBO considered, and now it’s developing one more. An HBO prequel about Aegon I Targaryen’s invasion of Westeros is currently in the works. And fans are excited about its casting.

The Aegon’s Conquest spinoff for Game of Thrones is finally moving forward after several complications. A recent report said HBO has officially confirmed that the much anticipated Game of Thrones prequel is now in the works. Additionally, Mattson Tomlin, the writer of The Batman Part II, has been assigned to develop the project. According to an insider, HBO is rewriting the narrative of Aegon the Conqueror in a way that goes “back to basics.”
