The Rise Of The Dragon artist shows how a young Vhagar would look like in Aegon’s Conquest spinoff
When it comes to fantasy, very few come close to the amazing world-building ability of George R. R. Martin. One of the most fabled stories in the world of Westeros that Martin has ever written is of course the legendary conquest of Aegon, the Conqueror. And with a bit of luck and quality, that fable has a good chance of making it to the TV screens.
A Song of Ice and Fire artist shares how Vhagar might look like in Aegon’s Spinoff
We have already met Vhagar in the Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon. However, she is old and weary, and looks more like a lizard than a dragon. However, Ertaç Altinöz, who was the illustrator on George R. R. Martin’s recent release The Rise of the Dragon, a condensed version of Fire & Blood, recently shared a picture of Vhagar in her younger days.
"Visenya" by me.
Hope you guys like it.🔥I'd like to show you a younger Vhagar. According to @Variety, a new #GameOfThrones prequel about Aegon I Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros is being actively discussed at #HBO.#FireAndBlood #ASongOfIceAndFire #ASOIAF #GeorgeRRMartin #GRRM pic.twitter.com/nEhr2FoBDY

What is Aegon the Conqueror’s spinoff about?
In Martin’s own words: “Aegon finally decided to take over Westeros and unify the seven kingdoms that existed at the time under a single rule. There was a lot of speculation that in some sense he saw what was coming, 300 years later. And wanted to unify the seven kingdoms to be better prepared for the threat that he eventually saw coming from the North. The threat we are dealing with in A Song of Ice and Fire.”
Was there another spinoff about Aegon’s conquest that got canceled?
Prior to the recent project in development, there was a spinoff that was pitched at HBO with Rand Ravich and Far Shariat as writers. The script showed Aegon as a “drunken lout.” It was scrapped off very early in development and we can see why. The new pitch is definitely a welcome development and hopefully, it will make it to HBO Max in near future.
