We have now received information from our source that the Glenarm Castle in Northern Ireland has been transformed into a bustling village for HBO’s upcoming series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a prequel to Game of Thrones. Production on the series began earlier this year, with news emerging that filming would revisit many iconic locations.

While Glenarm Castle itself has not been used for filming Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon, it was featured in the movie Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Glenarm Castle turned into a village for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

According to Redanian Intelligence, Glenarm Castle Estate is being used as Ashford Meadows in the series. The website reported that the castle itself would not be featured, but some part of the estate would be used.

Back in July, George R.R. Martin mentioned that he would visit the set in the UK. Martin mentioned his plans to visit the set in Belfast, where he hoped to meet the cast and crew. He mentioned he would visit the set of Ashford Meadow, implying that parts of this set are in Belfast.

Now, an exclusive source has reported to Wiki of Thrones that part of Glenarm Castle estate has been transformed into a large village set. This set may be the market town of Ashford, the seat of House Ashford in the Reach. Ashford Castle and its town are located north of the Dornish Marches in Westeros. Ashford is described as a market town with whitewashed houses and thatched roofs. It is the place where most of the events of the first book in the Tales of Dunk and Egg, The Hedge Knight, take place.

The source also mentioned that the estate has been transformed into a village set for “Sweetfoot.” Sweetfoot was the horse of Ser Arlan of Pennytree, the hedge knight under whom Ser Duncan the Tall served. After Ser Arlan’s death, the horse Sweetfoot was ridden by Dunk. Sweetfoot is also the production codename for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, so this information could indicate that the set has been transformed for the production of the series itself.
