When asked whether he supports Team Black or Team Green, Ifans had a blunt response, saying:
“Both sides are genocidal, crazy war criminals. So I think we should all enjoy seeing how they die.”
His statement reflects the dark and intense nature of the show, where no side is entirely good or bad. Ifans’ comment about enjoying how the characters die may seem harsh, but it captures the essence of House of the Dragon. As the show is a successor to Game of Thrones, fans have come to expect shocking deaths and betrayals.
Like its predecessor, House of the Dragon depicts the dark side of human nature. Team Green and Team Black use ruthless tactics to achieve their goals, often leading to devastating consequences. Ifans’ remarks remind us that the show is designed to entertain, even as it portrays the brutal realities of power struggles.
