House of the Dragon Season 2 begins with a visit to Winterfell and Cregan Stark
Winter is here.
The second season of House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel, has finally arrived. Similar to its predecessor, fans have lavished affection onto the characters, stories, settings, and other components that add to its compelling appeal. Fans of the original series missed House Stark in Season 1. Fortunately, the opening of Season 2 features Winterfell, and a new Stark.
House of the Dragon Season 2 begins at Winterfell
The highly awaited first episode of House of the Dragon Season 2 was the first time fans got to visit Winterfell in the show. And it was as breathtaking as expected, underlined with composer Ramin Djawadi’s soulful score. Tom Taylor’s Cregan Stark is just as majestic, as we see Harry Collett’s Jacaerys trying to convince him to join his cause, while they take a stroll over the Wall.
We also got to hear a reference to Queen Alysanne and her trip to the wall with her dragon Silverwing, and how the dragon refused to cross the wall, hinting at the great danger that existed beyond the wall.

Cregan Stark to play a major role in Dance of the Dragons
In an earlier interview, House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal teased Cregan Stark’s role in the upcoming civil war, and why he is so important to the story:
“He’s very powerful. Everybody’s vying for his army. He’s quite a bit younger than Ned Stark was, so it’s interesting to see the Young Wolf, the young Stark lord, and how he carries himself in the world, and the burden that’s on his shoulders being the Warden of the North. I’m excited for the audience to see and experience that.”
