Game of Thrones is the most awarded show in television history. The show set a record for winning the highest number of Primetime Emmy Awards for a series in a single year in 2015, winning 12 out of 24 nominations. To date, no other show has come close to that record. The hopes are high with the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon, with the cast and the crew, and the show itself being nominated and winning various accolades. The series ended up winning the Best Drama Series award at The Golden Globes 2023, and Emma D’Arcy earned a nomination for Best Actress for playing Rhaenyra.

D’Arcy recently opened up to PinkNews how they felt about being nominated for best actress at The Golden Globes as a non-binary individual, “It’s kind of a surreal thing because when I was starting out, I really felt that I had to pretend, to present as a woman in order to find success in this industry. Anyway, it wasn’t sustainable, and I stopped pretending, and weirdly, it’s at that point that I got nominated for best actress at the Golden Globes, which is beautifully ironic.”

They continued, “I think the most important thing is that it implies that the space for trans people and gender-nonconforming people is getting bigger all the time. So, I feel very privileged.”
