House of The Dragon’s Milly Alcock describes what a dragon smells like

Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is already getting fans excited about the variety of dragons they will get to see in the prequel show. We have already seen a number of dragons so far, Daemon Targaryen’s Caraxes, Rhaenyra’s Syrax, Laenor Velaryon’s Seasmoke, Rhaenys Targaryen’s Meleys, and of course, Laena Velaryon’s Vhagar. Even though dragons are fictional and magical creatures, that doesn’t stop one’s imagination from running wild. One of the questions that might come to your mind is how a dragon would smell like if it was real. The show’s star Milly Alcock, who played a young Rhaenyra Targaryen on the show, theorized what it would be like.
Milly said in the Official Game of Thrones podcast House of The Dragon, “Okay, my theory, is wet dog, but it’s so like Salt Lake specifically. So this dog has been in a salty lake and it’s like mulling out. It’s wet, It’s a bit acidic. You know? It’s a hot day and it’s like leathery paws and nose. It’s that. Like that’s what a dragon is like. Wet dog, man.”
She also recalled the very first scene she shot, which was the one with Paddy Considine in episode one in front of Balerion’s skull. She says she was quite stressed to shoot an important scene as that on her very first day, but she came out on top and performed excellently.
