Kit Harington and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau want Brienne-Tormund romance to happen

Game of Thrones has a lot of great storylines set up, and as we wait for the next episode to drop, we wait in excitement for the big character meeting : Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. While that meet will be great and all, there’s still another character meet from last season that is moving forth quite interestingly : Tormund Giantsbane, and Brienne of Tarth. Now, the whole Game of Thrones is rooting for it to happen, except for those who want to see Brienne get with Jaime Lannister. In a new interview, Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) said that they want it to happen, too. Read on!

Peoplerecently interviewed the two, and Gwendoline Christie (Brienne) herself, and they talked about the romance. She said :

“It’s been really overwhelming actually. People say to me a lot — total strangers — they want that to happen. But as far as I’m aware, has Brienne displayed anything that says, ‘I’m engaged with this. I want this to happen?’ But I am personally enjoying watching it and I am very much enjoying playing it because Kristopher is a hilarious person and no one has ever made me laugh so much at work.”

At this point Nikolaj Coster-Waldau seemed a bit surprised that he’s not the one that has made her laugh the most. He went on to talk about the romance, saying :

“I think when you say you haven’t shown anything … I think you’re egging him on, but that’s maybe just me reading into it.”

Kit Harington agreed, and explained his take :

“You don’t expect Tormund to ever find love in Thrones. And then of course Brienne comes along and she’s the perfect person and he makes all the wrong overtures toward her. I think there’s times that are right for comedy in this series and that’s one of them. You might find a little bit of lightheartedness in that relationship between those two.”
