Game of Thrones wasn’t just the biggest show of the century, it was a huge family and a way of life for so many people for nearly a decade. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, something that not only the fans but the cast and the crew find hard to move away from. Hence it should come as no surprise the cast of House of The Dragon found their own unique ways to bond with their co-stars. However, for some reason, the actors playing the younger versions of Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen weren’t allowed to mix with those playing their older versions until the filming was over.

Emily Carey, who played the younger version of Alicent Hightower, explained in the most recent episode of House of The Dragon Official Podcast, “I had so much creative freedom in this role. It’s in a sense like we’re playing two completely different characters. And me and Olivia didn’t talk at all about the character or the job, in the same way Milly and Emma didn’t.”

“We were kind of advised not to because it’s literally like we’re playing completely different people. Ten years is a really long time, you know?”

She added, “You’re seeing them go from practically children into grown women. There’s a lot of growing up to do. And so, yeah. They treated us like different characters.”

That was ridiculous. As if the actresses would change the way they play their characters after just talking with their older counterpart. ?
