The Last of Us leads the Emmy Awards tally with 8 wins on Night 1

HBO’s The Last of Us is one of the network’s most popular series to date. The second season is in the works, and fans are ecstatic to continue the gorgeous and horrific post-apocalyptic trip. Ellie and Joel, as played by Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal, are ruling hearts and the Emmy race this year. The show had a blockbuster opening at the Emmy Awards 2023.

The Last of Us wins 8 Emmy Awards on Night 1

The 75th Emmy Awards was postponed to 2024 due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and the first night which was held recently saw the distribution of awards for creative arts. The Last of Us dominated the first day, as many had predicted, swooping in to snatch 8 wins. The HBO adaptation secured victory in the following categories:

The Last of Us was nominated in 24 categories

With an astounding opening at the Emmy Awards 2023 Night 1, The Last of Us has proved that video game adaptations, if done right, can be one of the best television experiences one can witness. As the awards season progresses, The Last of Us holds a steady claim to a number of other awards as well, including the Best Show, Best Actor, and Best Actress, and a lot more, which are included in its long list of 24 nominations.
