“You can’t just wage a war from the homefront”: House of the Dragon will cover more of the continent in Season 2
The Game of Thrones prequel miniseries House of the Dragon is completely seizing on the excitement around the season 2 premiere. Fans are keen to watch how the Civil War affects the Targaryen dynasty and brings them down. The show’s publicity and marketing efforts to spread the news are very effective. Surprisingly enough, Season 2 production went smoother than the previous one.
Ryan Condal marvels at the greater scale of logistics for House of the Dragon Season 2
The official House of the Dragon podcast is back with Jason Concepcion and Greta Johnsen as its host. And as usual, Condal was the first guest this season. On being asked about the increased scale of production, Condal said, “Absolutely, and I’ll say it was a shockingly smooth production for as complicated as it was.”
“It was much more complicated around this time, just from a size, scope, logistics kind of, you know? The amount that we bit off this time versus in season one was much, much bigger.”
A lot more of the continent will be covered in House of the Dragon Season 2
On being asked about the increased number of sets and the expansion of the map in Season 2, Condal said, “Well, we definitely knew that the world was going to expand pretty quickly. Just by virtue of the fact really until episodes nine and ten of season one, we were kind of locked in King’s Landing. We traveled a bit, but the whole family was under one roof.”
But once Rhaenyra decamps to Dragonstone, and Daemon starts making plans to rude about and raise an army, and Jace and Luke are sent on their dragons to get support from the North and the South, you can feel the world just instantly expanding. And you can’t just wage a war from the homefront. So we really started by following the main characters and where they go.”
