House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal reveals his favorite Game of Thrones Character
House of the Dragon is not slowing down regarding pace and viewership ratings. So far, the audience has loved every episode, and the showrunners, Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, are to thank for helming such a massive project. In a recent interview with Westeros.org, Ryan Condal revealed his favorite Game of Thrones character. Can you guess who it might be? (Hint: his favorite book from the series, A Song of Ice and Fire, is A Feast for Crows).
Sandor Clegane, also known as the Hound, is his favorite from the series. He says, “I’m a Sandor Clegane guy. I love that character. I read Feast so fast the first time that I sort of missed his return.” Condal continues, “I love that and where that’s probably going. I’m extra fascinated by him because to me, he feels like the most POV character that we haven’t gotten a POV on yet. It feels like you know the most about him from the things that he reveals to the characters around him, like Sansa and Tyrion and Arya.”
Ryan has been a fan of the books for 20 years or so. He made all the writers on the show read the books, “I make everybody read the books, not only Fire and Blood, but you also have to go read the five tomes. Honestly, most of them had already; I think maybe one writer had to be assigned to it.” The showrunner wanted the readers to know that he is a big fan of the books, and he’s trying his best to honor George R.R. Martin’s writing while doing right by HBO.
