House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel, just ended production in Wales, completing all outdoor shoots for the next HBO epic. The project is now more than half finished, with filming continuing at Leavesden Studios until September. Locals in Northern Ireland were able to click a few snaps of the filming at Leavesden and a new set is being constructed on-site.

Several new pictures of the set being erected at the Leavesden Studios were released where House of the Dragon is currently being filmed. The set appeared to resemble the famous Red Keep, and it seems like scenes involving the Greens will be filmed in the coming days. The pictures were provided by House the Dragons Twitter account.

House of the Dragon Season 2 to continue filming despite US and UK strikes

According to a piece of recent news, production for the second season of the HBO series is scheduled to proceed as planned. The bulk of British performers in the Game of Thrones prequel cast have Equity contracts rather than SAG-AFTRA ones. As a result, Equity members cannot strike in solidarity of the US union.

Equity sent out strike instructions to members on Thursday, indicating that the British acting union will “stand in unwavering solidarity” with the Hollywood trade union, just as SAG-AFTRA joined the ongoing writers’ strike. However, because Equity is legally unable to strike in support of SAG-AFTRA under British law, members are still obliged to work.
